Installation:
Installation went without a hitch in my Silverstone KL-02 case. Including the velcro cable ties which certainly helped with cleaning up the mess of cables afterwards!

Testing:
Testing Disclaimer: To truly test a computer power supply to it's fullest extent would require equipment far beyond the budget of any part time reviewer. For that reason, our power supply tests are simple real world tests done by measuring it's performance when running in an above-average computer system as well as observing overall noise levels. Since any good power supply should be able to regulate it's voltages, I never expect to see much of a change in terms of voltage measured. Therefore, the testing portion of our power supply reviews should be taken as some overall, real world feedback on the power supply.

Testing System:
CPU: Intel Core2Quad Q6600 2.4ghz @ Stock Speeds
Motherboard: Asus P5K-E WIFI-AP
Memory: 4x1gb Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2 800mhz (4-4-4-12)
HDD: Western Digital 500GB SATAII
DVD+/-RW: Pioneer DVD-R212
Video: Asus 8800GT 1GB
Sound: MOTU 8PRE Firewire Audio Interface
Power Supply: Silverstone ST65EF
OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition x64

Voltages Recorded:

  Idle Load
+3.3V 3.44 3.44
+5.0V 5.12 5.12
+12.0V 11.97 11.97

I'd say that the noise generated by the ST65EF when operating was very comparable to that of my Seasonic S12II - a long time favourite power supply of mine. With my system being cooled by three low speed 120mm fans and two low speed 92mm fans I was not able to distinguish the sound of the ST65EF over anything else inside my case. Keep in mind that noise levels will vary depending on how much you have the power supply loaded up, but on my testing system I wasn't able to load it enough for this to happen.
