Features:
I was surprised at the quality of the included padded carrying case for the Destructor. Being a step above most carry pouches/cases I've seen with mouse surfaces, this one is a durable nylon material on the outside with form-fitted solid foam inside to hold the Destructor in place. Place right in the middle of the front of the case is the stylistic green Razer logo. The pad itself is fairly average sized when put up against a lot of the other surfaces I have here. During use, this seems to be a perfectly usable size. It isn't too large that it overwhelms your desk but it's not too small that you find yourself running out of room. The shape itself is actually done on purpose to help with a problem that gamers run into from time to time; those big sweeps downward where your mouse leaps off the bottom corner. For that reason, you can see how the bottom corners of the pad actually extend down further than the bottom edge itself.
The top surface itself is a very lightly textured plastic that feels just a bit shy of being perfectly smooth to the touch. I found this surface feel to be very close to that of the Steelpad S&S I had previously been using. Razer states the top as being surfaced with "Razer Fractal Technology". They have claims of it improving the tracking of both laser and optical mice by up to 37% (how such an exact percentage is maintained is up for questioning). Flipping the pad over, the base is entirely rubber which will give the Destructor a solid grip on your desk and should make any slipping nearly impossible under regular use.
